| Environment Health & Safety
is a very important issue at the School of Chemistry. It is the
aim of the School of Chemistry, at the University of Melbourne,
to protect and promote the health and safety of all
of its members in order to allow them to pursue their work and
study goals in a work environment that is safe and without risks
to health. Find out more about the Safety
Office and its function at the School of Chemistry.
This website provides safety information appropriate to the School
of Chemistry. It includes information about the safety protocols
and procedures which should be followed when working with chemicals
and scientific equipment, as well as general safety and emergency
advice for Chemistry staff and students.
The site is broken up into 6 main subject areas below:
EH&S procedures and processes
– all your safety requirements, including the School's safety
manual and relevant forms
Chemical safety – how to handle,
manage and dispose of chemicals safely
Emergency procedures and contacts –
who to contact and what to do in an emergency
EH&S committee – committee
membership details
Environmental management – the
University’s management system
Further Resources – links
to other safety- related information and resources
Every attempt is made to keep all downloadable
files and links up to date. However, as the downloadable files
are "uncontrolled documents", the original source of the document
should be contacted or viewed to ensure you have the latest version.
If you can’t find what you are looking for
